Taoglas buys Sure Antennas | Electronics Weekly

Sure Antennas, part of the SFL Mobile Radio Holdings Group, designs and manufactures a wide range of vehicle antennas that primarily serve the blue light and public safety sectors.
Key products within Sure’s portfolio include multi-function antennas that are ready for Emergency Services Network (ESN) transition, compact external antennas that use a vehicle’s original OEM whip or shark-fin housing for complete operational anonymity, and wideband solutions that support multiple communication, navigation, and data services within a single compact unit.
Additionally, the portfolio includes vehicle intercoms, RF multiplexers, cable kit assemblies, and integrated systems that are engineered to meet the high performance and compliance standards required in public safety communications.
The acquisition strengthens Taoglas’ position in the critical communications and automotive antenna markets, both of which are undergoing rapid transformation as agencies and fleet operators begin the transition to high-bandwidth LTE and 5G networks. By combining resources, the companies can offer broader capabilities for connected fleets, meet emerging network requirements, and support applications ranging from public safety and defense to commercial transport.
“Sure Antennas has a long-standing reputation for innovative antennas in the British blue light sector,” said Dermot O’Shea, CEO of Taoglas. “Their antennas, compact and robust designs, and integrated vehicle systems perfectly complement our antenna portfolio, enabling us to expand our solutions into the European public safety and critical infrastructure markets. We have been looking for add-ons in this area for some time and we are very pleased to add Sure’s capabilities to our ever-growing portfolio.”
“We’re proud to join forces with Taoglas,” said Karl Beach, Founder and MD of Sure Antennas. “The acquisition gives us the scale, resources, and global reach to serve the critical communications marketplace even further as we merge technologies, while accelerating innovation for the next generation of vehicle connectivity systems. With a shared culture of engineering excellence and customer focus, we’re excited to combine our strengths and bring even greater value to the markets that we serve.”
As part of the agreement, Sure Antennas will operate as Sure Antennas, a Taoglas company, with its antenna and ancillary products continuing to be marketed under the Sure Antennas brand.
All 45 employees will join Taoglas, continuing operations from the UK headquarters in Wirral, UK, and the European office in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Both sites will serve as centres of excellence for mission-critical vehicle connectivity, retaining existing product development, manufacturing, and customer support functions to ensure seamless continuity of service worldwide.
