OKW portable enclosures cover large-format electronics

They are designed to cover medical equipment and laboratory instrumentation, for example. And, more generally, find use in test and measurement, automation, fault analysis and quality control.

Portable enclosures

Each enclosure comprises four sections: the main housing, the operating panel, the handle recess panel and a bottom panel.

Specifically, the front control panel accommodates displays ranging from 11.5″ to 14″ displays, or a membrane keypad. The panel inclines at 12° for operator controls.

Below this is an additional flat surface for front-mounted operating elements and connectors. And there is an integrated handle on the enclosures.

Moulding for the portable enclosures is in UV-stable ASA+PC (UL 94 V-0) and is available in two sizes: S (283 x 246 x 194 mm) and M (344 x 274 x 219 mm).

Assembly is with tamperproof Torx screws.

Configuration

Note that the standard colours are traffic white (RAL 9016) and anthracite grey (RAL 7016). As a colour contrast, the handle grip panel can also be specified in traffic grey A (RAL 7042) as standard. Custom colours are also available on request, says OKW.

The company writes:

“COMMUNITEC offers a high degree of configuration with fastening pillars for PCBs and components in the main housing and operating panel and on the bottom panel. Components can be fitted to the bottom panel outside the housing. This panel can then [mount] in the main housing. There is easy access to already installed electronics via the front or the opening for the handle recess.”

More information about the COMMUNITEC portable enclosures is on the OKW website.
