Xbox Elite Series 3 Controller Leaks With Highly Customizable Design and New Controls
Hot on the heels of the leaked compact Xbox cloud gaming controller, the same site responsible for the aforementioned leak has published regulatory images of what looks to be a successor to the Xbox Elite 2 wireless controller. The Elite 3, as it were, looks to feature an increased focus on Xbox’s cloud gaming offerings, with a dedicated cloud mode detailed in the regulatory documentation, but the design itself is far more interesting than that of the compact controller, seemingly offering a high degree of toolless customization. It’s unclear when the Elite 3 controller will launch, but, given past trends, it seems likely that it will only launch alongside the Xbox Helix console.

Based on the images shared by Technoblog, it looks like the Elite 3 controller will keep the same swappable thumb stick and d-pad and adjustable and interchangeable triggers and paddles as the existing Elite 2 controller. This time, however, it seems as though the mounting points for the inner grip paddles have moved closer to the center of the controller, potentially offering more freedom for different custom paddle lengths. There are two new roller wheels between the two grips on the bottom edge of the controller, which seem to be linked to the tension or travel of the paddles or thumb sticks. The Elite 3 controller will have similar performance characteristics as the cloud-centric compact controller, with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity, and the controller will have an internal 1,528 mAh battery.
