I liked David’s good news story about semiconductor capex to increase: 2026 semiconductor capex to increase 20% YoY. The activity and investment in the semiconductor and foundry industries especially in US sites is encouraging and an insight into where the industry may be heading.

OHB Sweden being selected to build 20 small satellites for the EUMETSAT Polar SystemWhat caught my eye was OHB Sweden being selected to build 20 small satellites for the EUMETSAT Polar System – Sterna (EPS‑Sterna) constellation. EUMETSAT is the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites and the programme will also involve AAC Omnisys. This is a subsidiary of AAC Clyde Space who will be providing the mission’s meteorological payload: a microwave radiometer.
