TCS43 tactile switch for space-efficient PCB layouts

Example use cases include UIs involving on/off switching, menu navigation, and parameter selection. For example, in home automation systems and IoT devices. And also medical equipment such as blood pressure monitors and ventilators.
The TCS43 has a footprint of 4.2 × 3.2 mm and a profile height of 2.5 mm height. This enables space-efficient PCB layouts, highlights the company Shurter writes:
“The switch offers three actuation force options (180 gf, 250 gf, 400 gf; equivalent to 1.76 N to 3.92 N), allowing engineers to fine-tune the user experience depending on application requirements. Its mechanical lifetime of up to 100,000 cycles ensures long-term reliability, even in demanding environments.”
In terms of operating temperature range, the TCS43 switch works from -40 °C to +90 °C. And it supports low-power designs (10 µA to 50 mA, 1 to 12 VDC). Finally, contact resistance remains ≤100 mΩ for stable signal integrity.
