Keywave Unveils "Spatial Intelligence" Silicon - A 24GHz Radar SoC Breakthrough

From autonomous buildings that optimize energy to intuitive security systems, Spatial Intelligence is the foundation of the next generation of smart environments.

However, a major hurdle has prevented these technologies from achieving real-world scale: the lack of a reliable, high-precision human detection engine that can operate on a micro-power budget. Today, semiconductor innovator Keywave Technology announced the launch of the KW307, a 24GHz Radar SoC (System on Chip) designed to redefine the accuracy and efficiency of spatial sensing.

The Challenge: Beyond Simple Detection

While simple sensors have existed for decades, they often fall short in complex, real-world Edge AI applications. The primary bottleneck is the “False Trigger” — a phenomenon where environmental noise is mistaken for human presence.

In a typical office or home, the world is full of non-human movement. A desk fan spinning, a curtain swaying in the breeze, or the vibrations of a mounting surface can easily fool traditional sensors. These errors lead to system failures and wasted energy. For Edge AI to scale, it requires a solution that doesn’t just detect motion, but understands spatial coherence.

A New Standard in Precision: 1cm-Level Accuracy

Keywave - KW307The KW307 is not a standard detector; it is a high-integrity Spatial Intelligence engine. Designed for professional-grade applications, it provides centimetre-level location precision and high-resolution angular data.

Unlike legacy solutions that require external processors to decipher raw data, the KW307 performs the “heavy lifting” on-chip. Through a standard UART interface, the silicon directly reports clean, real-time human coordinates (X, Y) and presence status. This “plug-and-play” location reporting allows developers to map human movement within a space with 1cm-level precision, enabling advanced features like zone-based lighting and precise HVAC tracking without the need for complex external software.

Trajectory Intelligence: Combatting Environmental Chaos

Keywave’s core breakthrough lies in its proprietary Trajectory Intelligence. By utilizing a hardware-native Time-Space Coherent methodology, the KW307 interprets the environment as a continuous flow of movement rather than isolated reflections.

  • Immunity to Clutter: The SoC is engineered to intelligently ignore non-biological noise. It can distinguish between the rhythmic, repetitive movement of a fan or a curtain and the unique, coherent physical signature of a human being.
  • Vibration Resilience: The KW307 maintains a stable “lock” on subjects even when the sensor is mounted on vibrating machinery or near heavy industrial equipment—environments where traditional sensors typically fail.
  • True Stationary Locking: The engine maintains a guaranteed lock on stationary subjects at distances of up to 14 meters, solving the industry-wide problem of sensors “losing” people who are sitting perfectly still.

Breaking the “Power Wall”

For large-scale Edge AI deployment, power consumption is the ultimate constraint. Traditional high-performance radar solutions are notoriously power-hungry, often drawing 50mA to 100mA, which limits them to wired power sources.

Keywave has shattered this “Power Wall” by moving signal correlation into a specialized Mixed-Signal Domain. By “drawing the math” directly into the circuit architecture, the KW307 achieves active detection at less than 2mA. This allows for the first true deployment of high-precision, 24GHz spatial sensing in battery-operated and energy-harvesting environments.

A Global Legacy of Silicon Innovation

Keywave Technology represents a culmination of elite semiconductor expertise. Founded by a veteran silicon architect with 14 foundational USA patents and over 20 years of experience in high-performance RF design, the company is focused on delivering “Real Silicon” solutions that solve the physical-world problems of Edge AI.

“We believe the future of Edge AI depends on high-integrity data,” says the Keywave CTO. “The KW307 provides that foundation. It replaces brute-force digital processing with mathematical elegance, delivering 1cm-level location precision on a micro-power budget.”
