Splitgate Dev Details Updates Coming to “Empulse” Ahead of Launch

The post by 1047 Games reveals that the studio will make bigger maps for Empulse and rework the visual direction to give the world more characters. Apparently, there was consistent feedback that the world was too clean and simple, which 1047 explains is as a result of prioritizing readability over character, but the studio has confirmed that it will be addressing the lack of personality by adding weathering and destruction to the maps. Some of the gameplay changes include balancing weapons and the Speed P.A.I.N.T. mechanic, in order to make other gameplay styles more viable and attractive. The grappling hook will also be updated to be faster and carry more player momentum in order to make swinging around the cityscape feel more natural.
1047 Games will also expand Empulse’s gunplay with a new ADS (aim down sights) mode without losing the focus on fast-paced hip fire that makes running-and-gunning possible in the first place. As is likely expected from a game that centers on mechs, 1047 will be adding more depth and variety to the mech gameplay, confirming that it is exploring both new weapons and new mech types. The early access version of Empulse will also give players more options to deal with mechs, with the studio exploring anti-mech secondary weapons. The exact launch date
