Proton-CachyOS Adds NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 Enablement for Non-Native Games

It was recently announced that AMD Anti-Lag 2 and NVIDIA Reflex could be run on just about any GPU under Linux with the new low_latency_layer workaround for the Vulkan driver. Now, that same support has been added to the CachyOS version of the Proton compatibility layer, CachyOS-Proton version 11.0-20260519, making enabling AMD Anti-Lag 2 and NVIDIA Reflex simpler. The low_latency_layer can be enabled by adding a launch option “LOW_LATENCY_LAYER=1” but further tweaks and configuration will need to happen via the methods in the low_latency_layer project documentation.

The other major update that has come to CachyOS-Proton version 11 is the introduction of rpc-bridge to enable Rich Presence support in Discord. This, too, is not enabled by default, and can be enabled by adding the launch option “PROTON_DISCORD_BRIDGE=1”. The update also includes a number of other changes and bug fixes, like fixes for media playback to require less manual intervention; improvements to the OptiScaler injection method—which expands the number of compatible games—and a move to Windows 11 by default in Proton 11.
