007 First Light Exceeds 1.5 Million Sales in 24 Hours

007 First Light officially launched on May 27, and although the game was far from free of criticism, it has apparently been quite popular. Although SteamDB reports that First Light peaked at only 68,477 concurrent players on Steam during its first day out, IO Interactive confirmed in a recent post to X that the game had already sold 1.5 million copies within 24 hours of launch. This is in spite of minor controversies surrounding the game’s lack of FSR 4 and DLL mod support.

For context, Bungie’s Marathon reached 1.2 million estimated sales across PC, PS5, and Xbox three weeks after launch. 1.5 million sales on day one puts First Light only slightly behind Subnautica 2, which was highly anticipated ahead of launch and managed to sell 2 million units on launch day. This strong showing is made all the more impressive because this is IO Interactive’s first detour from the Hitman franchise in a decade.
