Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Still Slated for 2026 Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Despite Radio Silence

While there have been a number of rumors about the upcoming Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, one of them even predicting the price tag and a December launch date, there has been a notable dearth in updates from the likes of FromSoftware and its parent company, Kadokawa about the upcoming handheld-exclusive version of Elden Ring. In a recent financial report, however, Kadokawa has assuaged the concerns of Elden Ring fans, confirming that a 2026 launch for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is indeed still on the cards.

In addition to the confirmation related to Elden Ring, the publisher also confirmed that there will be no delay for the release of Duskbloods on Nintendo Switch 2. The full confirmation reads: “FromSoftware is expected to contribute with Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, as well as The Duskbloods (both slated for a 2026 release for Nintendo Switch 2),” and Kadokawa looks to be giving FromSoftware a decent amount of freedom when it comes to the development of future titles. The publisher also confirmed that there are still no plans to release The Duskbloods for platforms other than Nintendo Switch 2, but it declined to share a specific launch date for either game in the financial report.
