VP892 data processor runs AMD’s UltraScale+ VU13P| Electronics Weekly

Abaco's VP892 data processor runs AMD’s UltraScale+ VU13P

The VP892 supports high-bandwidth sensing and communications with an FMC+ expansion connector for wideband RF and waveform processing, says Abaco. It has 100Gb Ethernet and dual 100Gb optical interfaces for fast data movement between system cards.

The system targets harsh defence, telecom and industrial environments. For example, possible applications include real-time signal acquisition for jammer detection and countermeasures. Or accelerated metrology and inspection systems for defect detection. Or high-capacity DSP engines for secure data links and 5G/6G infrastructure

The VP892 is described as aligning with SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture), a technical standard lead by the U.S. Department of Defense.

For context, it supports 45% more programmable logic and up to 80% more signal-processing engines than the VP891, says the company.

“Abaco continues to lead the way in delivering SOSA-aligned solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Simon Collins, Director of Product Management at Abaco Systems. “The VP892 offers a powerful upgrade path ideal for applications where performance and reliability cannot be compromised.”
