Pulsar Reveals In-Store Mouse Fitment System
In the early days of gaming mice, new sensors and connectivity advancements improved performance and responsiveness noticeably, but, Pulsar has long argued that “shape is king,” referring to the shell shape of a gaming mouse and how it fits your hand. With that in mind, Pulsar has just revealed Pulsar Playground, a new AI-powered tool that analyzes hand size and shape in order to help users find a gaming mouse that fits them correctly based on their hand shape and size and their aim.

Pulsar Playground uses AI image recognition to measure a user’s hand size and shape and combines that information with a few questions—presumably about grip style and gaming requirements—in order to suggest a mouse. Playground is currently in beta in Korean stores, including the brand’s flagship store in Seoul, but presumably, there will be a wider roll-out later. Pulsar also suggested in the X post announcing the beta that it is working on a way to automatically read grip style as well. Depending on the model used, it’s also entirely conceivable that, with a bit of development work, Pulsar could develop a similar system that prospective buyers could use with their smartphone cameras, but that has not been announced as a planned feature or implementation.
