Nidec debuts highest capacity in-rack cooling prototype

The CDU is designed to manage the thermal load in data centres. It can be installed inside server racks and detects and notifies operators of any thermal anomalies using internal and external leak sensors and real-time monitoring capabilities for temperature, pressure, flow rate and liquid levels.
The CDU is compatible with industry-standard rack systems and conforms to the OCP ORV3 standard rack specifications which are widely adopted in data centres, added Nicec.
It can be integrated in new data centre designs as well retrofitted into an existing infrastructure.
Nidec said it is seeking feedback from visitors to Interop Tokyo and customers and is expecting to begin mass production in Q1 2027. The company added that the liquid cooling unit will be compatible with the latest chips in the industry.
The theme for this year’s Interop is ‘AI & The Internet : The Next Evolution, internet of AI, AI for internet’. The event takes place 10 – 12 June at the Makurhari Messe, Japan.
