Amphenol RF adds lengths for SMA cable assembly configuration

Amphenol RF has expanded its portfolio of pre-configured cable assembly options with additional standard lengths for the popular SMA plug-to-SMA-jack configuration designed on 0.085-inch conformable cable.
This high-frequency assembly provides versatility in new designs that may require custom shapes, superior shielding capabilities and rugged performance. SMA cable assemblies on conformable cable are ideal for RF and microwave applications such as laboratory testing and industrial infrastructure, claimed the company.
The in-series SMA plug-to-jack assembly is engineered with durable gold-plated, brass connectors and is available in standard lengths from three inches to 48 inches. This configuration supports board-to-panel and module applications that require high-frequency performance up to 18GHz. The 0.085-inch conformable cable provides the electrical performance of semi-rigid cable with the installation flexibility of a formable cable, said Amphenol. This cable can be bent and formed by hand during installation, eliminating the need for additional tools. It will maintain its shape in compact RF designs and controlled routing paths, which allows for optimal signal routing, it added.
SMA cable assemblies are often used in test and measurement equipment, RF enclosures and box builds and for signal routing between components.
Amphenol RF manufactures coaxial connectors for use in radio frequency, microwave and data transmission system applications. Headquartered in Danbury, Connecticut, USA, Amphenol RF has global sales, marketing and manufacturing locations in North America, Asia and Europe.
