FTSH series micro terminal strips from Samtec

For example, they are 1.27 mm centerline terminal strips (“headers”) available in both surface-mount and through-hole designs. They are also available in vertical and right-angle configurations.

Options range from 2 to 50 pins per row, with selective gold/tin plating in flash or light gold.

To improve with manufacturability they can include shrouds, locking clips, guideposts, pick-and-place pads, ejector and keying shrouds. This is for mating with cable assemblies, and tape-and-reel packaging.

The strips are commonly used as JTAG connectors (IEEE Standard 1149.1). Originally created to test for common board problems, but it has become a way to configure devices.

The connector specialist highlights they are Samtec Severe Environment Tested qualified and RoHS compliant. And they meet MIL-DTL-55302 testing.

Note also, the series is part of the Samtec Reserve programme. This means availability for next-day volume delivery. And are also part of Samtec’s free sample programme.
