Sealevel Relio R1 HPC+ Rugged Edge Computer Adds COM-HPC, 2.5GbE and AI Expansion

Sealevel recently introduced the Relio R1 HPC+, an upcoming rugged embedded system that delivers high-performance computing at the edge. Part of the Relio line, this device features the Intel Core i5-1345URE or Intel Core i7-1365URE processors and uses a COM-HPC architecture. It’s suitable for AI, machine vision, high-bandwidth networking, and other workloads that need lots of processing and connectivity.

The Relio R1 HPC+ features five 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports and optional Wi-Fi 6E. It also has six locking USB ports for edge devices and peripherals. Display connectivity is provided through the dedicated DisplayPort and DisplayPort-over-USB-C. Along with that, an expansion bay supports CFexpress, E1.S, or M-key NVMe storage. The E1.S and NVMe interfaces support AI accelerators or a CAN bus expansion module.

The Relio R1 HPC+ is built to operate in challenging environments. The fanless, solid-state design and rugged anodized-aluminum enclosure provide shock and vibration tolerance.

The system’s COM-HPC architecture facilitates technology migration, enabling users to change or upgrade CPU functionality without a system redesign. It also accomodates Windows and Linux operating systems and contains up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory. With these specifications, the system handles demanding computing and AI workloads close to where data is generated.
