The company has budgeted $67 billion between 2024 and 2028 to fund expansion.

SKHynix has filed with the US SEC for a US listing later this year which could raise $14 billion.

Chey also said the memory shortage will last until 2030.

SK Hynix  has seen its share price rise 250% this year, propelling it into  the  trillion dollar market cap club on the back of soaring demand for HBM  hips.

SK Hynix’s profit for the January-March quarter quintupled YoY to $26.7 billion with an operating margin of 72%, and HBM accounted for the bulk of its earnings. 

Hynix had a 57% share of the HBM market in Q4, according to Counterpoint Research, while Samsung had 22%.

Hynix has secured 70% of Nvidia’s HBM requirement for its latest Vera Rubin processor platform – a deal which is projected to give SK Hynix a 54% share of the workdwide HBM4 market.
