Rumors Suggest Persona 6 Development Concluded, Internally Delayed To 2027

Rumors have long swirled about the development of Persona 6, although nothing has been announced by its publisher, Sega, or developer, Atlus. Fresh rumors from Xiaohongshu, recently shared on X reveal a number of details about the upcoming sequel to Persona 5. For starters, and likely most importantly to most fans of the series, Persona 6 is effectively feature-complete, but the actual launch has reportedly been delayed internally to 2027. It’s unclear why the game has been delayed, but it’s possible that there are external factors, like the launch of GTA VI and the current doom and gloom surrounding the general gaming industry, at play.

Currently, it seems as though Persona 6 may show up for the first time at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for June 7, or at the upcoming Summer Game Fest, although there are no concrete indications that this will be the case. Further rumors suggest that Persona 6 will feature dual protagonists—one male, with the character confirmed to feature blonde hair, and a female, who will feature red hair.
